Ever feel stuck in a rut? Frustrated with your professional or personal life? Feel like it’s hard to meet new friends or find fun things to do?
Often we get to wrapped up in our daily routines and it’s hard to step back and reevaluate…. but reevaluate is EXACTLY what I suggest you do. If you are unhappy for any reason… you have to recognize the source of the unhappiness and do something about it. When you do take a moment to step back, I’ll bet you’ll be surprised at how much you have to be grateful for in your life. That even though this ONE thing is really bothering you… there are a ton of other people and personal traits you are glad to have in your life.
As I mentioned in the title, I firmly believe that by expressing gratitude daily, finding ways to grow personally, and giving back to those less fortunate in your community and world you will begin to live a fuller and happier lifestyle.
You may remember from my last post that I have really been focusing on reaching some goals that I have set for myself in 2010… It is with much excitement that I share with you a strategy that I have chosen to fulfill two of those personal goals. Check out this video I have made just for you!
So, as I mentioned in the video, here is the link to my Team In Training website where you can donate or find out more about joining Team In Training.
Each donation helps accelerate finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Keep in mind more than 823,000 Americans are battling these blood cancers. I am hoping that my participation in Team In Training will help bring them hope and support.
If you choose to donate, on behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, I want to thank you very much for your support. I greatly appreciate your generosity.
I urge you to take into consideration the thoughts that I have shared with you today and hope that you will begin feeling gratitude for the amazing things in your life, choosing an area of your life that you want to improve, and giving back to your community in some way.

P.S. Please share this post with your friends on Facebook and Retweet it on Twitter if you enjoyed it!

Amanda,
Great to see you are giving back to the society! I know that “warm, fuzzy” feeling you get once you accomplish something. You are gonna do great things in 2010. I enjoyed our phone conversation the other day. Good luck in the marathon.

Hi Amanda, great video and I am inspired by you today. I think what you are doing is really awesome. I will donate to your link. I agree with you as to the physical activity, it releases those endorphins that really can propel you to greater accomplishments. Personally, I truly am NOT a runner, I’ve tried, but I do work out at the gym, swim and speed walk on the incline trainers. Hope you guys are digging out of all the snow, my brother was stranded for a few days with his band up there at Duboius Ski Resort in PA this past week too. The road to theie next venue was the highway that had the 50-car pileup! Anyway, great post, keep up the great inspirations and positivity!!

Hi Amanda,
Great site, fantastic information and great energy. We have a lot in common: my first husband died of complications of Leukemia, he was 22 and I was 19, NOTHING had prepared me for that. My personal growth story has been deep, hard, and I’ve had to cry myself over some hurdles, but it has been WORTH IT.
I’ve been involved with a nutritional company for over 12 years and this past year I’ve teamed up with another friend to form a “Pay It Forward” Cancer Foundation to help others fight their battle. We currently have 3 recipients taking advantage of our benefits and seeing absolutely amazing, extraordinary results.
If you find an interest in reading about this in detail I can point you to a couple of areas for information. One is my blog, where I share my story, personal growth experiences and about my company and products, http://CarlaJGardiner.com. The second is my friends website, she is personally documenting her husband and daughter’s progress and recovery from different cancers online. http://diseaseandcancerprotection.nmvm.com/ellagicacid.html
I look forward to following you, learning from you and hope to be an encouragement source for you. Life isn’t easy, but with God’s grace and the loving support of family and friends we can overcome anything we put our minds to.

Hi Amanda,
I like the video. We don’t realize how much we have to be thankful for. That’s why the simple practice of writing an appreciation list expands the consciousness.
Gratitude is our connecting link to good. It forces us to see the good in everything. The miracle of expressing gratitude is that as you notice the good in all things, the good in all things comes to you. Cause / Effect.
All the best with your goals achieving activities. That half marathon sounds exciting!

You are such an inspiration! Giving back is one amazing feeling that most may never understand. I will be running my first 1/2 marathon in May. The community is contributing to a family that lost a daughter and then a week later their oldest son to 2 seperate car accidents.
I have a gratitude rock. I keep it in my pocket. Every morning and night when I put it in my pocket and take it out, it is a little reminder of all the things I am thankful for in my life.
When is your marathon? What are somethings you are doing to train for it? Good Luck!

Hi Amanda,
I really appreciate this post. Your video is candid and real, and I love how you have made a point of aligning yourself with a local organization as a way of giving back and also expanding yourself. Congrats on starting a running program despite your initial doubts. The more we give, the more we get back, which we can then turn around and give away again…and this applies to ourselves, too! You have given yourself permission to try something new, to push past your uncertainties, and now look where you are!
You are an inspiration to all of us who are learning and growing through this whole online experience! Good luck with your training! Thank you for this.

Awww… such a wonderful video post Amanda! I truly LOVE to give back… it is in all honesty one of my absolute favorite feelings in life. It also is something I need to really do more often.
Will look into what you have shared here and also will be looking locally for other charities that I can work with. One of my biggest dreams is to make enough money and create enough of a community to truly change the lives of those less fortunate.
I always take five minutes in the morning and at night to truly be thankful for all that I have, all that has been given to me and the blessings in my life. What is so cool about this is you get so much in return when you give back… just the feeling alone is truly amazing!
Great post! HUGS!
