Hi Amanda,
Wonderful thoughts (and what a peaceful spot you have to visit!). Personal brand. Reminds me very much of some material I’ve read from Tom Peters (Brand “You”). Creating our own brand – and getting it out there for people to see – what a great way to connect. Especially when done from a place of care, and with the other person in mind. And that’s the whole “building relationships” piece that is so important. Love the message and love your site!!

@Lance, Hey Lance! So glad that you enjoyed the message. I will have to check that book out as I am not familiar with it. You are so right, building relationships and coming from a “giving” state of mind are SO important to social media marketing success. I look forward to getting to know you better!

Amanda,
You are so right. It is also about “personal” branding. People need to get to know you, like you, trust you and also believe that you can be a leader and mentor for them to achieve what THEY want, not what you want to give them. And thanks for the reminder that it does take time.

@Dr. Erica Goodstone, Absolutely Erica, being the person that people look up to is a huge part of establishing your personal brand! The more value you can add to the content you produce, the more people will respect and look to you for advice and trust you immensely. And yes, it does take some time to mature. Thanks for stopping by!

You are one that is doing this the right way. Those that provide value stand out. Asking someone to join your business is like asking someone to marry you on the first date.
Yes, video and blogging and social media can be scary at first, but it beats cold calling and doing those yucky things we used to have to do. And it’s so much fun to just share your passions on your blog and let the chips fall where they may.

Name branding is very important and there are many techniques to use. There are many times that I will comment on a blog and not leave my URL. Then, I comment and leave my name in the post with any mention to my URL. This way if my comment is interesting enough, people will use the search engines to find me.
This way, the search engine see that someone is actually search for, “Spunky Jones SEO Blog” and that will provide a benefit if you get this to happen a lot. This process, also gets people to associate with your name.
What do you think?

Amanda… I truly loved this! I agree in every aspect. As I was one of those who plastered my “opportunity” also at one time… it definitely is a learning curve for many to understand that it is about Branding You and not your opportunity. What amazing knowledge and information both you and Katie share. I can definitely vouch for your tips here… because they do work. You and Katie are proof… and many others of us included!
P.S. Love your video here!
