Let’s face it…
The quality and quantity of your blog content is at the heart of your blogging success. Many bloggers have come and gone, still scratching their heads wondering why things just didn’t work out. The blunt truth is that if your content is mediocre, so will be your success.
Keeping your readers educated, enlightened, empowered, or just plain entertained in regards to your niche is what will keep them coming back for more.
==========================================================
Picture yourself when you first started blogging, and perhaps this even pertains to you right now… what were/are your fears and concerns? How overwhelmed were/are you?
Chances are you had plenty of fears as you began putting yourself out there to the world to be judged through your blog content. You were probably incredibly overwhelmed as there is a ton to learn. You may have been nervous about knowing enough to position yourself as a leader in your niche and not quite sure where you would get enough information and inspiration to write all of those blog posts.
Well, here’s the deal. The fact that you have set aside your fears, taken ACTION, and believed in yourself, has already put you leaps and bounds ahead of the ordinary blogger.
Now it is time to WOW your audience by improving your blog content. The three qualities of blog content that I suggest will capture the attention and appreciation of your audience most are keeping it fresh, consistent, and informative. Each of these qualities are ok on their own, but when you can combine the three you will take your blogging success to the next level.
==========================================================
Kick back, relax and allow your imagination to take over. Let me share these 10 refreshing ideas with you, and as I do, envision yourself applying them to your own blog, in your own niche.
10 Fresh Ideas To Keep Your Readers Wanting More:
1. How-To Guides – Provide your readers with step by step directions to do something. While you may not feel like you are a complete “guru” in your niche yet, write about and share what you already KNOW. That’s the starting point for every industry leader I’ve come across.
2. Top # Lists – Easy to write, easy to read = loved by you and your audience. The best part is, these lists are composed by YOU… so you get to decide what is the “top”. Ex.) The top 3 actions you can take to…, My top 10 personal development books, etc.
3. Top # Tips – The cousin of top # lists, here you give away your “top” pieces of valuable information. Ex.) My top 3 tips to creating valuable content, My top 5 tips for a safe workout, etc.
4. Best Of Lists – This idea could literally go a million different ways. Customize it to your niche and do it periodically if you want. Ex.) The best personal development books of 2010, The best California Merlots of 2009, or The best live event for the upcoming season.
5. Series – Is there a topic that you are extremely knowledgeable about? Split it up into multiple blog posts. Create a series of posts on that one topic such as this 2-part post. You can also see an example of a series with my SuperQuick Tip Series.
6. Q & A Posts – Create one post early in the week asking what people have questions about, then choose the best questions and answer them later in the week on a seperate post. I have seen this work best with established blogs, but that doesn’t mean you can’t give it a go. Just make sure you have an existent audience to ask you questions.
7. Expert Interviews – Ask an expert in your niche if you could interview them and post the recording on your blog. Short, sweet, and simple this will benefit the expert by introducing them to another audience and it will benefit you by building your credibility.
8. Picture Posts – While this may not make sense for some niches, it could be a very creative way of expressing your ideas in others. Even in a seemingly “stiff” or “information focused” niche, this could provide a welcome breath of fresh air and entertainment within your blog content.
9. Product Reviews – This is a great way to set yourself up as the expert because honestly, people would much rather get the “cliffnote” version of a book than read it themselves in many circumstances. Here, you can go out, do the research (bettering yourself at the same time no less) and offer incredible value to your readers. Ex.) books, clothing, equipment, courses, etc.
10. Before/After Experiences – This is slightly different than a product review because it goes deeper. In this type of post, explain how you felt before and after using a product, service, or course. How did it change your life, your mindset, or your business? This is a great way to be “living proof” to your audience.
Is your head spinning yet with blog post possibilities? If it is, I have reached my goal. Sometimes, we are too hard on ourselves when it comes to creating blog posts. If you keep your blog content clear and concise, switch it up to keep it fresh, and follow the 4E’s of valuable content (empowering, enlightening, entertaining, or educational) you WILL keep your readers coming back for more.
Please leave a comment below, I would love to get your input about creating blog content-
Have you tried any of the 10 ideas above? What ideas do you have that you plan to pursue? Where do you typically find inspiration for your blog content? Share your knowledge with the community, we can’t wait to hear it!

With the help of this article, I will now keep a list and when I don’t know what to write, I will look at this and at least get an idea of what type of article I might want to write and get the imspirational juices flowing.

Great topic ideas here Amanda!
There are so many different ways
to write a blog post… and it’s always
best to mix and match.
I see a lot of people always doing
list posts… they are effective, but
not when it’s every post.
Thanks for the ideas:)
